Anyone who loves the beauty universe in Madrid has for sure attended the last edition of the Salon Look Madrid fair at IFEMA last weekend (5 to 7 November). You haven’t? Don’t panic! DressedIn Madrid team was there to inform you about everything what happened at one of the most important beauty and aesthetics fairs in the whole country.

Salon Look Madrid is the reference event in what refers to beauty in Spain. As soon as tickets to attend the fair went on sale, every professional on the field and any beauty lover (like us!) run the get at least one. It was the first time for us to attend Salon Look Madrid, and for sure it won´t be the last one.

This was Salon Look Madrid´s ninth edition (as former editions worked so well, sponsors decided to keep organizing it every year). This time, the salon was organized in 3 full pavilions: One entire area for the hair products and treatments, second one for esthetic firms and, last one was shared between nails and make-up products.

One of the hottest and most expected events of the fair was the Hair Look 2016 show. This show, in which professionals showcase the trendiest cuts, colors and hair techniques of the moment, is organized right in the same catwalk of the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Madrid. Same runway hosts one of the funniest and most original activities of Salon Look Madrid: The body painting show!

However, assistants who didn´t have access to the runway area were also able to see quite a lot of live activities, such us hairstyling or make-up tutorials.
Also, Salon Look offered several beauty courses for people interested in increasing their knowledge about beauty techniques: for example, how to make-up to make the most of their facial features or how to get their hair done (what a pity we couldn’t assist!)

Salon Look Madrid 2016 counted with a total of 1.200 exhibitors and 400 beauty firms. Regarding the assistants, we are not sure about the exact number of people who attended, but we can tell the place was absolutely crowded!

Regarding the beauty trends we spotted, we’ve came to the following conclusions:

Trendiest hairstyle for autumn/winter 2016-2017 will be the so-called Long Bob (with a fringe if you want to rock the look).

Regarding make-up, blush tones will definitely make your look. You should apply this color not only in your lips but also in your eye shadows and in your cheeks.

Finally, paint your nails with autumn and winter tones such as brown, dark blue, burgundy and with metallic tones.

Our advice for the next year assistants: bring your comfiest shoes, dedicate at least a full day to visit the salon, and, don´t forget your camera!
