One of most exciting moments in the fashion industry is whenever a fashion designer is named as creative director of any of the big Luxury Couture Houses. We always feel anxious when we know one fashion designer is going to leave way to a new one.

That´s is exactly what we felt when we heard Natasha Ramsey-Levi was taking over the position of Creative Director at Chloé, one of our favourite RTW brands. From now, the designer will be in charge for Chloé´s ready-to-wear, leather goods, and accessories collections.

Ramsey-Levi arrives at Chloé just after the departure of Clare Waight Keller, who worked as creative director of the firm for over six years, and who has just started designing for Fashion Firm Givenchy!

Natasha and Clare are not the only women who have hold this position at the French RTW firm. Actually there´s been a pretty long tradition of female designers at Chloé, starting from Gaby Aghion, who co-founded the brand during the 50s, and passing through Phoebe Philo or Stella McCartney, who have both worked designing lines for Chloé.

Truth is, the whole industry is expecting a lot about Ramsey-Levi work for Chloé. During the last years, the French brand has been making efforts to rejuvenate the collections without losing their French savoir faire and classicism. That is exactly why Natasha suits the position more than anyone else: it is expected from her that she will able to create a balance between the youthful attitude of the brand and its Parisian couture tradition!

Despite Ramsey´s youth, her experience as Creative Director has been proved in some of the biggest fashion houses. Actually, before landing at Chloé, Ramsay-Levi was working as women´s ready-to-wear creative director for Louis Vuitton. Also, she worked years before and alongside Nicolas Ghesquière for Balenciaga.

We won’t have to wait long to see Ramsey-Levi debuting as Chloé´s new creative director, as she will be presenting her spring-summer 2018 collection in September during the Paris Fashion Week.

We are looking forward to know more about this young designer as we believe she is definitely one of the most promising designers of the moment! Also, we are specially happy to see more and more female designers conquering the creative director positions of our favourite fashion firms. Ramsey-Levi herself has affirmed “how happy she feels about working for a fashion brand founded by a woman, leaded by women and aimed to dress women”.
